‘‘I worked with Stig over a number of coaching sessions as planned. During these sessions Stig helped me to clearly define what behaviours I wished to focus on and to develop a personal strategy to work with. With his engineering precision, European quirkiness and infectious positivity he kept me on task throughout this thoroughly enjoyable relationship. The recent positive feedback and acknowledgement I have received from my work colleagues and managers, without any prompting, during the short time I have been working with Stig has been remarkable.”

Working with Me - the Model that creates Transformation

Introducing the Triquetra

I invite you to consider this Triquetra symbol that has come to mean so much for me. Its roots go back to both Viking and Celtic cultures, if not even further back.

In my interpretation this is a brilliant way to illustrate the critical balance in life, between Head - Heart - Hand or more directly: The Knowing - The Being - The Doing.

When consciously take care of all these key aspects, chances are that our lives are well balanced and we are feeling overall comfortable and even at Ease.

I suggest that we have in our western culture and values systems been conditioned and trained to focus strongly on The Knowing (Learning / Studying / Intellect / Academics) and obviously on The Doing (Organization / Structures / Efficiency / Activity).

Unfortunately The Being is often under-estimated and at worst even suppressed - would you agree?

As a Process Engineer, specialist in process optimization and technology development as well as senior manager of operations I am now painfully conscious of where my life was lacking balance, increasingly causing me stress and discomfort. My focus was external with others, and no real heed to how I were going internally - Push On was even worn as a badge of honour!

Looking at the symbol and the area in the centre in particular, it is possible to envisage what this area looks like when one or more of the aspects are not well tended to and managed. It will be skewed, and most probably not as strong and well balanced as we would like to think that it is. Like a bicycle wheel where the spokes are not evenly tightened, the motion will start to wobble and be unsafe when the pressure and speed is ramping up….

In my Coaching I have a special affinity and capacity to explore and surface challenges in The Being space, is it balanced or maybe not?

I help my client look at what is REALLY going on internally for them, and once identified issues and possibilities to address these we embark on a journey together where I am holding the Coaching / Supporting role, including the key accountability aspect.

This all happen in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment. The process is always at apace and depth which is controlled by the client (think ‘‘foot on the throttle’’)

If this model resonates with you, which of the 3 aspects are at risk for you - get in touch!
